The 3690 Privacy Adaptor has a patented built in clutching mechanism which allows the engaged mode to be overridden by use of specified force applied in a single downward action on the lever. This will allow entry in an emergency situation without the use of any type of tool. The privacy adaptor can be installed onto any existing Lockwood lever set and standard 5260 Tubular Latch.
