Types of Industrial Door Hardware

Industrial door hardware is a wide category that includes many different parts, but they all have one thing in common: they're designed to keep your doors functioning and secure.

Lockwood has everything from toilet partition fittings to signage, door stops and hinges, kickplates and coat and robe hooks. In this article, we’ll explain the different types of industrial door hardware and how they can benefit your commercial spaces.

Industrial Door Bolts

Industrial door bolts are an essential part of any commercial building. They can be used to secure doors, gates, and even lockers. The most common types of industrial door bolts are roller bolts, toilet bolts, and panic bolts.

  1. Roller Bolts: These are the most common type of industrial door bolts and are used on doors that open inwards or outwards. This type of bolt is placed into a slot on either side of the frame and then rotated into place.
  2. Toilet Bolts: Also known as "washroom" bolts, toilet bolts are designed for use on toilet doors. The Mortice bolt offers more secure privacy and concealed fixing screws are ideal for disabled washrooms while the surface-mounted toilet bolts are designed for stalls. Both options have red and green indicators to denote if the room is occupied or vacant.
  3. Panic Bolts: A panic bolt is similar to a roller bolt except it has no handle on the outside which makes it easier to lock from the inside without having to use keys or codes. These bolts are generally installed on the inactive leaf of double doors or doors where there is no need for primary egress.

Industrial Hinges

Industrial hinges are an important part of the industrial and commercial sectors. They are used in a wide range of applications, including furniture, doors, gates and cabinets.

Aluminium hinges can be used in many different applications because they are lightweight and durable. They are resistant to corrosion and are easy to install. The aluminium is soft enough that it can be formed by hand but hard enough that it will not bend or break under normal use.

Architectural Hinges are ideal for hanging doors. They are very sturdy and can be used for both internal and external applications. Lockwood offers two different colours which you can customise to your preference: zinc and matte black.

Other Types Of Industrial Door Hardware

We offer a range of other products that you can use in conjunction with our door hardware to make sure you get everything you need for your industrial applications. Here are some of the other industrial door hardware offered by Lockwood:

  • Lead covers: Power Transfer Lead Covers protect cables from damage while ensuring a smooth transfer of wires between door and frame in electric locking situations.
  • Door stops: Door stops are used to prevent doors from being opened too far or too fast. They can also be used as a safety device to prevent injury in case someone tries to walk into an area where there is limited space (such as between two machines).
  • Casement fastener: Casement fasteners are used on casement windows so they can remain shut but still be easily opened when needed. They can also be locked at any time if necessary (such as during nighttime hours).
